Hosting

Vickiepedia.org is not hosting in itself, but Lean-Forward.com is looking for maybe a few hostees after a recent inactive-hostee purge. I’ve had that domain since 2003 and I don’t intend to let it expire; so if nothing else, at least you won’t have to hop around hosts because of domain issues if you’re hosted here.

What Hostees Get

enough space (more is negotiable)
- fanlistings: starts at 10mb
- blogs, fansites, collectives: starts at 500mb
unmetred bandwidth (but be reasonable!)
subdomain(s) not already taken on Lean-Forward.com
your own custom 404 error page and favicon
private FTP access (one account per subdomain)
~~email forwarder or POP3 on request~~
CGI, PHP and one MySQL database
regular database backup
HTML, CSS and some PHP help (through email or MSN)
some script help, installation, upgrade reminders and upgrades
a host who knows what she’s doing

Please send your preferably working examples (not just screenshots) plus a list of scripts you intend to use (if applicable) to vickie@vickiepedia.org.

One-line emails are probably not going to work, though.

Please do not ever leave your files CHMODed to 666 and folders 777, ever. CHMOD back to 644 and 755 respectively when you’re done. If you don’t know what it is, don’t mess with it, or just email me to ask. Also, let me know if you ever change your email so I can still contact you.
