Notable deaths:

  • Keyboard: Death from poisoning drowning. A cockroach crawled on it so I sprayed it. And by “sprayed it” I meant I emptied half a bottle of bug spray into it.
  • Earphones: Stomped to death. Clean one-hit kill.
  • PSU 1.0: Died when I shoved a screwdriver into it. Don’t ask. (This is not PSU 2.0, the one with the fan that died recently. I’m on 3.0 now.)
  • Motherboard (micro): Capacitor leaked, motherboard caught fire, panic ensued.
  • Floppy disc drive & non-smartphone: I’m too young to know what these are. *blinks*

Most of these were previously seen in the pictures of the 2006 entries Meet the Diablos and Shop-Ping!. Wow. I feel old.

The wonderful, cloudless country in the other Hemisphere, where there’s more UV than Ozone, where July is cold and January hot, where you could almost experience four seasons in one day, where water in the toilet bowl twirls counterclockwise (pending confirmation), where Vickie would be staying for the next 4 or 4.5 years. Bingo! Australia!

The flight was mostly pleasant (but that belongs to another entry when I have proper internet connection after I find a proper place to rent *sigh*); homesickness hasn’t got me much since the parents have really helpful friends over here; AMD Diablos… that poor thing took some minor injuries (pictures pending) even with all that “handle with care” and “fragile” stickers. Otherwise, Vickie is cool.

Although speaking of homesickness, Trusty #1 and Trusty #3 must be suffering from it — I couldn’t turn them on no matter what I do! Argh! Must resist getting a new vibrator!

The story was, Bro has a nice computer, but he was almost constantly in the middle of something so it’s mostly unavailable when Dad wanted to use it. I have the laptop, decent enough and I’m always ready to share, but my “DO NOT USE INTERNET EXPLORER DAMMIT” (sans dammit in real conversation) probably really scared / annoyed him.

So, despite of Mum’s objection, Dad got the new computer.

But guess who can’t stop using that computer now? Mum… Now we’re finally bonding. :P

(What the hell? I kept typing “Ada” instead of Dad.)
