Google, you have a lot of explaining to do! :P

Up next some day: the entry on porn that I downloaded a virus for. (Wow, déjà vu.)

2003: Lean-Forward.com is a weird domain name, I wish I could come up with something clever, like a play on my name “Vickie”. 2004: Lean-Forward.com is a weird domain name, I wish I could come up with something clever, like a play on my name “Vickie”. 2005: Lean-Forward.com is a weird domain name, I wish I could come up with something clever, like a play on my name “Vickie”. 2006: Lean-Forward.com is a weird domain name, I wish I could come up with something clever, like a play on my name “Vickie”. 2007: Lean-Forward.com is a weird domain name, I wish I could come up with something clever, like a play on my name “Vickie”.

Vickie says (23:48:04): I want a domain with a play on my name. Any ideas?
Ellis says (23:48:06): Vickiepedia?
Vickie says (23:48:07): 0.0

And Vickiepedia was born.

If you’re reading this, my dear and excellent friend, Vickie has finally done it. Yes, a new layout for Lean-Forward after 1.66 years; and yes, the site is now valid XHTML 1.0 strict; and yes, she stuck her face on the header image; but yes, she’s finally not stealing game images; and yes, the theme is also affectionately(?) named “Spike Trap”! And because I’ve known IE for another 1.66 years, this time there was little trouble getting the layout to look the way it’s intended on it! Woo!

I’m not entirely sure about the colours, though, especially with the <em> and the links; but I’ve been staring at the layout for hours and my eyes aren’t bleeding yet, so I guess it’s not too bad! The layout also has so much potential to be a fluid layout, but I shied away… I have yet to fix the smileys and favicon to match the new theme, too.

Pffft, sleep is for the weak!

After hours of screaming labour… or in layperson’s term, hours of screaming “what the fuck are you doing, stupid IE” (seriously), version 8 of Lean-Forward is finally born. Yay! :O

Contrary to popular belief, “Shillien” isn’t the name of the goddess of death (formerly the goddess of water) in Lineage II. Shilen is her name, and by my understanding, “shillien” is like an adjective, like “of Shilen” (e.g. Shillien Knight, Shillien Elder, etc). Dark elves (the lady on the layout) follow Shilen, hence the layout was named “Shillien”. Eh, it sounds pathetic when you try to explain it.

I do realise that the layout is a little wider than 800×600. I forgot I was designing in 1280×1024 instead of 1024×768 as before… So… comments, constructive criticism, re-reviews and/or error reports? *cough* Guestbook still has old layout. *cough*

After staring at the same old layout that screams “More colours! Give me more colours!” at me every time I look at it, and thinking “I should really make a new layout for the domain.” every time I hear the silent screams, and stalking two certain talented individuals named Becca and Desiree almost every day (especially recently) for layout inspiration, then coming across the artwork and promotional poster of the MMORPG, Lineage II, that I play…

Version 7 of Lean-Forward is finally born! *throws confetti*

This version looks a wee more like actual Photoshop work; with much better coding as well. :) I just realised that the way I used to code to centre div layers doesn’t work properly on screen resolutions lower than 800×600. :o Even though virtually no one uses them any more, being the semi-perfectionist I am… And because of this very semi-perfectionism, I also almost killed the blog trying to do something as trivial as taking “index.php” out of the generated category links, which makes no practical difference (ish). Heh. But everything’s fixed now, so me = happy. :D

Now, let me just plug my site everywhere and spam every tagboards and message boards so people would come here and shower the baby with comments, constructive criticisms and error reports. Wait, maybe I should go to bed instead, seeing that it’s 4 a.m. already and I can’t seem to type decipherable… stuff.

P.S. How exactly do you pronounce “Desiree”? I’m too shy to ask Desiree herself myself… Found a thread on it. 0.0
